Water Scarcity Will Soon Be History In Gombe – Fawu Assured

The Commissioner Ministry of Water Resources and Environment Alhaji Muhammad Sa’idu Fawu said water scarcity in Gombe Metropolis will soon be over.

The Commissioner gave the assurance while fielding questions from journalists in his office.

Fawu further said all is now set for people to commence benefitting from the water supply project embarked upon by Inuwa Yahaya led administration, calling on the public to complement the efforts by securing the facilities in their places as the they’re very expensive.

He said the state’s water board will embark on metering its customers to enhance it’s revenue generation for smooth water treatment.

Alh Muhammadu Sa’idu Fawu, who thanked the state Governor Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for spearheading the new agreement between Gombe state and African Development Bank, said the agreement will compliment in the actualising of new Muhammadu Buhari industrial park which according to him will bring a great benefit to the people of the state especially youth.

The commissioner added that about eighty refuse dumping centres were erected around Gombe Metropolis, maintaining that the project will help in the environment protection and will be constructed in all the 11 local government of the state.

He said some of the refuse dumping centres were attached with public convenience to reduce indiscriminate defecation.

He therefore appealed for support and cooperation to government’s good policies and programmes geared towards bringing succour to their health and well being.
