Bauchi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to appointing credible and competent individuals into strategic positions to drive the overall development of the state.
The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Aminu Hamayo, stated this during a special reception in honor of Malam Ilyasu Buba, following his appointment as Board Secretary of the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB)
The event was organized by the Misau Local Government Education Support Forum and held at Chartwell Hotel, Misau.
It was attended by the Emirs of Misau and Duguri, the SUBEB Chairman and directors, as well as friends and relatives of Malam Ilyasu Buba.
Represented by the Commissioner for Lands and Survey who is also the District Head of Gwaram, Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed Gwaram, Alhaji Hamayo described the appointment as well-deserved, noting Malam Buba’s dedication and discipline to duty.

The SSG also commended Governor Bala Mohammed for providing the dividends of democracy to Misau Local Government and Bauchi State in general.
He further reiterated SUBEB’s commitment to improving enrollment, providing infrastructure and learning materials and urged communities to support the state government in achieving its goals, particularly by protecting government property from vandalism.
In their separate remarks, the Emir of Duguri, Alhaji Adamu Mohammed, and the Emir of Misau, Alhaji Ahmad Suleiman, assured of their readiness to support the state government’s efforts to transform the state, especially the education sector.

Alhaji Adamu Mohammed, a former SUBEB Chairman, charged the Chairman and Secretary of the Board as well the entire staff to work in close collaboration to improve basic education in the state.
Also speaking, the Chairman of SUBEB, Alhaji Abubakar Isa Baba, said education is a collaborative effort, noting that SUBEB has engaged traditional rulers and other stakeholders to improve the sector
He reiterated his call on communities to take ownership of schools and report cases of absent teachers for appropriate action to enhance educational progress in the state.

He congratulated the new Board Secretary on his appointment, describing him as a hardworking officer, and thanked the community members who turned out to honor him.
Earlier, SUBEB Permanent Commissioner II, Alhaji Idris Ahmad Hardawa, said that a similar honor was organized for Malam Buba by SUBEB in recognition of his dedication and teamwork with staff, and called on staff to continue working together for effective service delivery.
