The APC governorship candidate in Gombe State, Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, has been honoured with two traditional titles by Gona and Yamaltu emirates in recognition of his contributions to human capital development and community advancement.
A press statement signed and made available to Jewel Times by the media aide to the candidate Ibrahim Sani Shawai said “In Gona Emirate, Dr Gwamna was conferred with the traditional title of Dan Darman Gona, while in Yamaltu Emirate, he was honoured with the title of Majen Yamaltu”.
The titles were presented by the traditional institutions during separate ceremonies attended by community leaders, traditional title holders and other distinguished members of the communities.
While presenting the title from Gona Emirate, the Sarkin Fulani Gona, Baba Sarkin Fulanin Gona, said Dr Gwamna’s character, dignity and contributions to human development were among the reasons he was considered for the honour.

Responding, Dr Jamil Gwamna expressed appreciation to Almighty Allah, the Emirs of Gona and Yamaltu and the entire emirates for the honour, describing the title as a responsibility and a call to greater service.
He assured the traditional institutions and people of Gona and Yamaltu of his commitment to remaining a worthy representative and ambassador of the emirates, saying “these honours have further strengthened my resolve to contribute to the development of my people” .
From Yamaltu Emirate, Prof. Safiyanu Isyaku, Masoron Yamaltu, conveyed a message of respect and recognition from the traditional institution before Dr Gwamna was conferred with the title of Majen Yamaltu by the Emir of Yamaltu, Alhaji Dr Abubakar Aliyu.
The APC governorship candidate appreciated the traditional institutions for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to uphold the dignity and responsibilities attached to the titles.
Dr Gwamna said the honours were not merely titles but symbols of trust and expectations from the traditional institutions and the people, stressing that they would inspire him to do more in the areas of human capital development, community empowerment and service to humanity.
He dedicated the honours to the people of Gombe State and reaffirmed his commitment to a politics of unity, dignity, service and development.
