Routine Inspection: GOSUPDA Marked, Stopped, Demolished Illegal Structures

In compliance with the Building and Structures Law, the Gombe State Urban Planning and Development Authority (GOSUPDA) has embarked on its statutory mandate of routine inspection in Gombe metropolis.

The Executive Chairman of the authority Alhaji Muhammadu Samanja Mauɗo said his men visited some sites constructing on the Right Of Way (ROW) at Herwagana along Goje Mosque and marked them for demolition.

Another residential house being constructed on ROW at the same Herwagana was marked for removal.

According to him, there was also a construction under a high tension electric cable at Liji along Kalshingi Road which was equally marked for removal.

Another site visited by the routine inspection team was Lamiɗo Clinic being constructed under high tension and without building permission, was instantly marked for demolition following a two consecutive notice, as owners failed to show up for approval.

The executive chairman added that a residential construction without building permit along Kwadom Road was also marked to report.

Alhaji Mauɗo further said another farm house at Liji erected without permission was also marked for removal. The authority equally identified a house under construction without permission along Kwadom Road and was marked for demolition.

The agency has also traced a construction site where remodelling of a filling station is taking place on Kwadon Road without approval from GOSUPDA.

The GOSUPDA men identified another residential house under construction along Kwadon Road without building permission. It was marked for removal.

Likewise another farm house and construction site without permission from the agency along Kwadon Road was identified and marked.

Another residential house under construction was equally marked for partial demolition for not having permission at Tukulma Beto. At the same Tukulma Beto, the authority demolished an illegal structure at Malam Inna behind Gombe State University along Karɓa Road.

The Executive Chairman warned the public to stay free from any form of building without permission from GOSUPDA, as it shall not relent in carrying out its statutory rights of sanitizing and beautifying the state.
