Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has described Security as partners in Progress, who played a vital role in keeping the state and the country safe.
The Governor made this assertion while decorating his Escort Commandant, SP Auwalu Bala Yakubu who was promoted to the rank of superintendent of police.
The Governor who was represented by the Chief of Staff Government House, Alh Abubakar Inuwa Kari, attributed the promotion to the dedication and commitment to service which he said is the secret behind any success.
He charged the newly promoted SP to live up to expectations by being prudent and more dedicated to service, praying Almighty Allah to continue to elevate him to higher ranks.
In his vote of thanks, the promoted superintendent of Police Auwal Bala Yakubu, dedicated the rank to the state Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and the entire staff of the government house, which according to him are the secret behind his success.
SP Auwalu pledged to rededicate himself to service. “I will consider this new promotion as a challenge for me to do more, as the saying goes. To whom much is given, much is expected”, he said, appreciating the support he received from the state Governor Alh Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya which made it possible for him to reach the rank.
Commenting on the development, the Chief Security Officer of the Government House, Superintendent Sani Adamu Bajoga described the promotion as a collective achievement for all, attesting that SP Bala Yakubu is a man of proven integrity who sacrificed his time in serving humanity.
SP Sani Adamu advised him to keep on the good work and good relationship with his colleagues as testified by all.
In his remarks, the Director-General (Press Affairs) Government House, Malam Ismaila Uba Misilli, said SP Bala Yakubu hailed from Jekadafari Ward of Gombe Local Government, studied at Bayero University Kano, joined Nigeria Police force and posted to different parts of the country and later became the Escort Commandant of the state Governor Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya. “SP Bala Yakubu is a straightforward, down-to-earth and friendly police officer whose dedication and traits are celebrated by all”, he said.
Earlier, the Chief of Staff Alhaji Abubakar Inuwa Kari, assisted by the celebrant’s wife decorated SP Bala Yakubu and in the presence of other staff from various departments of the Government House.
