The newly appointed Chairperson of the Federal Teaching Hospital Board of Management Gombe, Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim, has paid a familiarization visit to the hospital, making it her first official engagement since her appointment as board chairperson by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Zainab Abubakar who hails from Jalingo, Taraba State promised to bring her wealth of experience and strong commitment to enhancing healthcare services in the region.
Speaking during an interactive meeting with the hospital management and staff, Zainab expressed commitments to improving healthcare service delivery and fostering excellence in accordance with the renewed hope agenda of the president.
She acknowledged the critical role of the institution in providing quality medical services, trainings and research, emphasizing her commitment to ensuring that the hospital operates at optimal capacity.
She called for prayers and support to enable her discharge the huge responsibilities effectively.
Zainab commended the All Progressives Congress led administration for its ongoing initiatives in human capital development, highlighting their direct impact on the well-being of ordinary citizens.
She underscored the importance of continuous collaboration between the government and healthcare institutions to drive sustainable progress in the sector.
The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, Dr.Yusuf Muhammad Abdullahi, provided a comprehensive overview of the hospital’s operations, outlining its core functions in medical service delivery, trainings of healthcare professionals, and research advancements.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the hospital management and staff to supporting President Tinubu’s healthcare initiatives through renewed hope aimed at improving service efficiency and accessibility.
Also speaking during the visit, Gombe State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Habu Dahiru, highlighted the strong partnership between the state government and the federal teaching hospital.
He noted that Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s administration has been at the forefront of strengthening healthcare services in Gombe State.
According to him, Governor Inuwa Yahaya was recently honoured with an award of excellence in healthcare delivery, a testament to the administration’s efforts in the health sector.
Dr. Dahiru reassured that Gombe State Government remains committed to collaborating with the Federal Teaching Hospital to enhance healthcare delivery, address infrastructural challenges, and ensure that residents of the state receive the best medical care possible.
