The Gombe State Urban Planning and Development Authority (GOSUPDA), under the leadership of Executive Chairman Alhaji Bappayo Samanja Maudo (Turaki Babba of Gombe), has embarked on a series of enforcement operations across the Gombe metropolis.

The exercise, carried out upon the directives of His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya CON (Dan Majen Gombe), targeted areas with suspected violations of urban planning regulations.

In Tumfure, particularly at the site of the new township road construction, GOSUPDA officials discovered significant distortions and encroachments on the right of way. These structures were subsequently demolished based on the directives of the Executive Chairman.

Furthermore, the GOSUPDA team discovered that an access road leading to a school in Nasarawo had been illegally blocked. The road space had been sold off by unscrupulous individuals.

GOSUPDA immediately reopened the road and issued a stern warning to the public, urging them to promptly report any similar illegal activities.

In other locations, including Bagadaza (near the third transformer), Bappah Trebor Housing Estate, and Plateau Junction in Pantami, the team encountered and addressed various encroachments and obstructions.

The teams also inspected another area of Nasarawo following a complaint received from the Department of State Services (DSS).

Finally, the team inspected a property near the residence of the Lamido Chikaires, located opposite the Government House. An encroachment was discovered, and a stop-work order was issued and served to the property owner.

These intensified enforcement actions by GOSUPDA are in direct alignment with Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s ambitious urban renewal initiative. The Governor aims to transform Gombe into a modern and attractive city that can stimulate investment and drive socioeconomic development.
