The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Albarka Radio Chapel, Bauchi, and Jewel Times Online Newspaper/TV have expressed deep sadness over the death of Hajiya Amina Adamu Ajiya popularly called Umma, mother to Comrade Jibrin Hussaini Kundum. She passed away on Friday in Bauchi after a protracted illness at the age of 59.
Comrade Jibrin Kundum who serves as the treasurer of the NUJ Albarka Radio Chapel is the Jewel Times Correspondent in Bauchi.
In a joint condolence message, Albarka Radio Chapel Chairman Comrade Silas Shentukwak and Jewel Times Executive Director Yunusa Isa Kumo extended their heartfelt sympathies to Comrade Jibrin Hussaini Kundum, his family, and loved ones over the painful loss.
They acknowledged that the “Death of a mother is a great loss which can never be replaced,” while praying for Almighty Allah to grant the family the strength, patience, and courage to bear the vacuum.
They urged Comrade Jibrin, his siblings, and relatives to take solace in Allah’s will and remain steadfast in faith during this difficult period.
Describing the deceased as a devoted servant and a caring mother, the two leaders stated that “Hajiya Umma was a devoted Muslim, a caring mother, and a respected woman of virtue, whose life was marked by kindness, humility, and devotion to her family.”
They noted that this painful loss is felt not only by the Hussaini Kundum family, but also by journalists across Bauchi State, the Northeast, and beyond.
“Hajiya Umma’s contributions to the upbringing and wellbeing of her children, and the values she instilled in them, will remain an enduring part of her legacy,” the leaders added.
“We hope her children, relatives, and loved ones take solace in the fact that death is an inevitable journey ordained by Almighty Allah. Our members, staff, and management share this grief and join you and the entire family in this moment of sorrow. Remain steadfast in faith while praying for the repose of her soul.”
On behalf of the staff and management of both organizations, the leaders prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, accept her good deeds, grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, and bestow upon her Aljannatul Firdaus.
Hajiya Amina has since been buried according to Islamic rites in Bauchi.
