The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested six people for allegedly poking eyes of Late Malam Manu Wanzam of Gaɗam Community in Kwami Local Government.
Parading the suspects on Friday, the Public Relations Officer of the corps, SC Buhari Sa’ad on behalf of the NSCDC State Commandant, Jibrin Idris, said following a credible intelligence, the corps’ officers at Gaɗam Division succeeded in arresting the suspects during a joint operation on 11th September, 2025.

“The following suspects were arrested for desecrating the grave of Late Mallam Manu Wanzam, an 85-year-old resident of Gadam who was buried on 9th September 2025 at Gadam North Cemetery: Adamu Umar 22 years old, Umar Jibrin Aboki 21 years old, Abdullahi Umar Dauda 17 years old, Muhammed Isa Chindo 28 years old, Kawuji Sarki 39 years old and Manu Sale 23 years old. The suspects are of different addresses all within kwami Local Government Area”.
The corps image maker said investigation revealed that Kawuji Sarki contracted Muhammed Isa Chindo, who in turn sub-contracted the other suspects to dig up the grave for the eyes harvest at the sum of ₦500,000 each.
“Therefore, the suspects conspired and exhumed the corpse, removing the deceased’s two eyes, and reburying the remains”, the PRO added.
He said as the suspects have confessed to the crime, efforts are being made to arrest the other culprit still at large, assuring that upon completion of investigation, the suspects will be charged to court.
