The village Head of Pokwangli-Tungo in Kaltungo Local Government Area Malam Tambari Zaria has turbanned the Information Officer, Office of the Secretary to Gombe State Government Joshua Ɗanmalam as Sardaunan Tungo, and 17 other illustrious sons and daughters of the chiefdom.
Speaking during the turbanning ceremony, Tambari Zaria said the recognition followed their selfless services and commitments to the development of Pokwangli-Tungo and Kaltungo Local Government Area.
While calling on them to discharge the responsibilities attached to their various traditional titles with diligence, sacrifice and patriotism, the village head charged them to be good ambassadors of Pokwangli-Tungo people, Kaltungo Local Government and Gombe State at large.
He encouraged them to uphold the tradition and culture of the chiefdom, as well as advocate in any way possible to bring more development to Pokwangli-Tungo land.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the ceremony, the new Sardauna appreciated the village head for recognizing him out of thousands for the honour.
He promised to uphold the trust reposed in him, while doing everything possible for the development of Pokwangli-Tungo land.
While assuring of commitment in discharging his roles as new Sardauna of Tungo, Ɗanmalam appreciated all and sundry for identifying with them in this momentous occasion.
The colourful ceremony had in attendance traditional title holders from across Kaltungo Chiefdom, as well as illustrious sons and daughters of Pokwangli-Tungo from various walks of life.
Traditional songs and dancing of Pokwangli-Tungo people added colour to the historic event.
