A political support group, under the platform of the Muhammad Ali Pate Project, has formally declared its endorsement on Professor Muhammad Ali Pate for the 2027 Bauchi State governorship election.
The endorsement was unveiled at a national press conference held at the Zamani TV Conference Hall, where the group’s national coordinator, Mustapha Ibrahim, expressed confidence in Professor Pate’s capacity to deliver transformative leadership.
“With great honor and a deep sense of purpose, we are here to declare our total and unwavering support for Professor Muhammad Ali Pate to become the next governor of Bauchi State,” Ibrahim said.
He noted that the decision came after extensive consultations with stakeholders across the state, highlighting Pate’s proven track record in governance, public health, and development.
Professor Pate currently serves as Nigeria’s Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, a role he assumed in August 2023.
Comrade Mustapha said under Ali Pate leadership, the ministry has recorded significant progress in addressing critical health and social challenges.
Ibrahim further highlighted Pate’s global profile, citing his past role as the Global Director for Health, Nutrition, and Population at the World Bank. “His contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic and other global health emergencies have earned him international recognition and trust,” he stated.
He also spoke on Pate’s academic credentials, describing him as an intellectual with deep policy insight. “As a former Julio Frenk Professor of Public Health Leadership at Harvard University, Professor Pate brings not just global experience but a strong vision grounded in knowledge and integrity,” Ibrahim added.
Describing him as “a son of the soil,” born in Misau, Bauchi State, Ibrahim emphasized that Pate understands the unique challenges and aspirations of the people of the state.
The Muhammad Ali Pate Project envisions a Bauchi State with improved healthcare, youth empowerment, enhanced education, and infrastructural growth.
The group also pledged to promote a governance model rooted in transparency, inclusion, and accountability.
“Our goal is simple, to transform Bauchi into a state that offers opportunities, equity, and development for all,” Ibrahim said.
He called on citizens across party lines to unite behind the movement. “This is beyond politics it is a people-driven call to action for a better Bauchi State.Together, we can build the state
we’ve always dreamed of,” he urged.
Ibrahim concluded by reaffirming the group’s full commitment to working toward Pate’s emergence as governor in 2027, calling for unity and collective action to achieve the vision.
