The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has commended Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for providing it with brand new operational vehicles to improve surveillance for security of lives and property.

The State Corps Commander Gyama Gyawiya made the commendation during a press briefing at the headquarters of the state command, noting that he met the command without a single operational vehicle.

“When I assumed duty as the State Commandant of the NSCDC here in Gombe, the command had no functional operational vehicles. It was a challenging situation that threatened to limit our capacity to respond swiftly and effectively to security needs across the state”.

He commended the political will and commitments of the state governor for coming to their aid.

“However through the kind intervention and passionate support of His Excellency, we have witnessed a tremendous transformation. His Excellency not only facilitated the refurbishment of five grounded operational vehicles, but also went further to donate three brand-new fully-equipped operational vehicles to the command”, Gyama announced.

He said the gesture will boost the morale of the corps’ men and officers towards maintaining peace and security of citizens.

“This act of generosity is not just a logistical boost for us, it is a powerful message that the safety and security of the people of Gombe State remain a top priority of this administration. The Governor’s love for the security and wellbeing of the people, and his confidence in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, are deeply evident in this gesture. It has boosted our morale and capacity to carry out our duties diligently and professionally”.

The NSCDC state commandant assured Gombe people of their commitments to providing adequate security of lives and property across the state.

“On behalf of the officers and men of the NSCDC Gombe State Command, I extend our heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency. We assure him and the good people of Gombe State that these operational vehicles will be put to judicious use to maintain peace, protect critical infrastructure, and support all lawful efforts in securing lives and property across the state”.

The commander equally appreciated General Hassan Tafida for supporting the corps with an operational vehicle, calling on other peace loving citizens to borrow leaf.

Corps Commander Gyama Gyawiya noted that the vehicles will be deployed to areas like Gadam, Cham and Gombe Metropolis to maintain peace.

It could be recalled that recently governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya donated 50 operational vehicles to various security agencies in the state to boost their capacity.
