Youths loyalists of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Gombe State have assured to remain in the party despite the exit of its former leader Khamisu Ahmad Mailantarki.

The party youths made their stand known on Saturday during a meeting in Gombe.

Speaking at the meeting, the convener who doubles as NNPP chairmanship candidate for Gombe Local Government in the 2024 Gombe State local government council election Hon. Adamu Babale Makera, said “Though are into NNPP courtesy of Khamisu Mailantarki, but we shall remain in NNPP. Despite the fact that Hon Khamisu Mailantarki is our political master, but we still hold our personal ideology that make us believe that our stay in nnpp is the best for us”.

Hon Babale described frequent and excessive defections as political virus that kills young people’s political carriers.

He encouraged the youths to remain firm and steadfast in political ideology, advising them to always prioritize quality candidates who can deliver irrespective of the party they belong.

He said as youth, “We shall always vote for better candidates who we believe can serve the masses, regardless of their party affiliation”.

He added that the NNPP youths are coming up with a new movement, which can provide a better political roadmap for Gombe youths before the next political season.

In her contributions, the one of the women leader activists in NNPP Hajiya Hadiza Muhammad Isma’il, discouraged women in the state from collecting some tokens, spaghetti, detergent or wrappers from unpatriotic politicians during elections.

She said women hold the majority vote powers in every election, and should therefore use it wisely to bring quality leaders into power.
