Governor Bala Appoints Yakubu as First Emir of Lame

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad of Bauchi State has officially presented an appointment letter to Alhaji Aliyu Yakubu Lame, confirming him as Second Class Grade Emir of Lame, Toro Local Government Area of the state.

Presenting the confirmation letter to the newly appointed emir, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Aminu Hammayo, on behalf of Governor Bala Muhammad, charged the new royal father to be law-abiding and maintain the status quo of traditional institutions.

He expressed hope that the elevation from District Head of Lame to Second Class Emir will promote peace and unity among the people of his emirate and beyond.

Speaking shortly after receiving his appointment letter, the new Emir of Lame, Alhaji Aliyu Yakubu, thanked Governor Bala Muhammad for the creation of Lame Emirate Council out of the present Bauchi Emirate and the confidence reposed in him.

The emir noted that “The creation of Lame Emirate would enhance administrative efficiency, promote agricultural activities, and improve access to government programmes”.

He pledged to work with government and community leaders as well as neighbouring communities for effective traditional administration in his emirate.

In their separate key messages, the Kan-giwan Wunti, Alhaji Abdul Dan’azumi and Dan’masanin Fagam, Alhaji Mujahid Muhammad, as well as Makaman Wunti, Alhaji Aliyu Jibrin Abdullahi, commended Governor Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir’s administration for recognizing the importance of Lame community representation in good governance.

They also described the gesture as part of ongoing reforms to strengthen traditional governance structures and improve security coordination across Toro LGA and the state in general.

According to the traditional title holders, the Lame community are peace-loving people and would continue to be law-abiding towards transforming Bauchi State to the next level.
