Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has inaugurated a 12 member white paper drafting committee on the report of Gombe city master plan and assessment of grazing/forest reserves and cattle routes.
Speaking during the inauguration at the Government House, the governor said the committee’s major terms of reference is to come up with a road map for easy implementation of the two committees’ reports earlier submitted.
The committee is also mandated to advice the state government on how best to implement the recommendations, to address poor development plans in the state capital, as well as address the lingering farmer-herder clashes and modernize livestock farming in the state.
The governor represented by the Secretary to the State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njoɗi, said the committee members were carefully selected considering their array of expirience and expertise in various fields of specialisation.
On his part, the chairman of the white paper drafting committee Aliyu Kamara, a retired head of service in the state, assured to give in their expertise and expirience in advising the government on how best to implement the recommendations of the committees.
He charged members of the committee to dedicate themselves for the success of the assignment.
The committee has 4 weeks to submit its report.
