Gombe State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Salihu Baba Alkali, has commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his tremendous efforts in implementing the 2024 budget.

In an exclusive interview, Alkali highlighted the governor’s numerous projects, including the construction of schools, roads, hospitals, and the timely provision of fertilizers to farmers.

According to Alkali, these projects demonstrate the governor’s commitments to improving the lives of Gombe State citizens. He noted that the governor’s administration has made significant strides in providing essential infrastructure and services to the people.

Alkali also shed light on the sources of funding for the 2025 budget, citing Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), statutory allocation from the Federal Government, Value Added Tax (VAT), and donations from donor agencies as key revenue streams.

In addition, Alkali explained that the budget process in Gombe State follows global best practices, emphasizing that the state government prioritizes transparency and accountability in its budgeting process, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.

The commissioner appealed to Gombe State citizens to support the governor’s efforts in providing people-oriented projects. He urged the public to recognize the governor’s commitment to their welfare and to cooperate with the administration in its development initiatives.

Alkali’s comments come as the Gombe State Government prepares to implement its 2025 budget, which is expected to focus on critical sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.

The commissioner’s praise for the governor’s budget implementation efforts underscores the state government’s commitments to providing dividends of democracy to its citizens.

As the government moves forward with its development agenda, it is clear that the needs and welfare of Gombe State citizens remain a top priority.
