The Gombe State Urban Planning and Development Authority, GOSUPDA has intensified its enforcement activities, conducting inspections in ten areas within and outside Gombe Metropolis.

The operation resulted in the seizure of several bags of cement from defaulters.

Led by Tpl. Nuhu Gure and Chief Accountant Mr. Jimmy A. James, the GOSUPDA team achieved significant results.

Several sites were marked for second notices or removal, while a large store along the Gombe-Bauchi road was sanctioned with the seizure of at least ten bags of cement.

Additionally, the team inspected an underground building construction near Matrix International School and issued a notice and invited the owner for further clarification.

At Gombe Local Government shopping complex, the team uncovered an ongoing illegal extension of a pharmaceutical shop and unapproved rebuilding of the complex’s fencing wall. Both cases were served with stop-and-report notices.

Other places visited in the metropolis include: Gombe Main Market, railway, BCGA, and Nasarawo Industrial Area.

Beyond the metropolitan area, the team extended its operations to Tumfure South, Tumfure Investment Quarters, Tumfure North, Lafiyawo, and new stores along the Gombe-Bauchi road.

The Executive Chairman of GOSUPDA, Alh. Bappyo Samanja Maudo, issued a stern warning to defaulters, emphasizing the consequences of disregarding stop-and-report notices.

The chairman also cautioned against building under power lines, highlighting the associated risks, particularly during the rainy season.

He commended the dedicated staff of the Authority for their efforts and urged them to sustain the momentum in building a new Gombe as envisioned by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
