Hon. Barrister Rambi Ibrahim Ayala, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Billiri-Balanga Federal Constituency, has officially received his provisional Certificate of Return, signaling a formal commencement of his bid for the 2027 general elections.
Receiving the document at the state PDP secretariat, Ayala described the event as a renewed call to service and a testament to the confidence reposed in him by the party leadership and his constituents.
Speaking with journalists after the presentation, Ayala pledged to run an issue-based campaign centered on inclusive development and the protection of the collective interests of the people of Billiri and Balanga.
He expressed strong optimism regarding the party’s prospects, urging eligible voters to rally behind the PDP to secure what he termed “purposeful leadership and effective representation” at the National Assembly.
However, Ayala utilized the platform to launch a sharp critique of the incumbent representation, characterizing the status quo as detrimental to the progress of the constituency.
“The current representative that we have, at best, you can call it a parasitic representation we are having. The current representation is not in tune and doesn’t understand the real issues that bother and agitate the minds of the people of Balanga-Billiri Federal Constituency,” he stated.
A two-time member of the State House of Assembly, Ayala argued that he is uniquely qualified to bridge the gap between the government and the grassroots.
“I’m that kind of person that would stand to fill in the gap, one that understands the concerns of the person in Dadiya, the concerns of the person in Cham, the concerns of the person in Lunguda, the concerns of the person in Waja and of course the Tangale nation. I’m that kind of person that has what it takes to be able to represent them, to give them very qualitative representation, representation that they have been yearning for,” he asserted.
Ayala promised that his tenure would be defined by amplifying the voices of these diverse nationalities and ensuring that resources reach them promptly.
Broadening his critique to the state level, he positioned the PDP as the only party with the welfare of Gombe citizens at heart, while accusing the ruling party of neglecting the state’s diversity.
He commended the leadership of Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo for providing “clear leadership with purposeful direction” and threw his weight behind the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, describing him as the “most deserving personality that can drive Gombe to the promised land.”
As the campaign season is about to begin, the candidate called for unity, peace, and steadfast commitment among party members and supporters.
He urged the electorate to turn out en masse in the upcoming election to support candidates who can reclaim the state’s dignity, pride, and prosperity, assuring them that their trust would be rewarded with “responsible, people-oriented representation.”
