Gombe State has embarked on a significant initiative aimed at supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through the commencement of enumeration exercise for the Presidential Palliative Program (PPP) grants.
Spearheaded by the office of the Senior Special Assistant/Focal Person on MSMEs to Gombe State Governor Hon. Abdulwahab Sabo, the program targets over eleven thousand beneficiaries spread across the 11 Local Government Areas of the state.
Under this program, each beneficiary stands to receive a grant of fifty thousand Naira, providing a much-needed financial boost in the face of economic challenges.
Hon. Abdullahi Sabo expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmad Tinubu and the Ministry of Trade and Industry for extending this opportunity to Gombe State.
He called on Gombe people to continue supporting the present administration, led by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya; chairman Northern Governors’ Forum, in his efforts to deepen democracy.
Babangida Usman from the Bank of Industry; a financial institution responsible for conducting the enumeration exercises, commended both the state and federal governments for initiating the program to alleviate the plight of the masses.
Usman mentioned that the screening process for over eleven thousand beneficiaries is expected to span nine days.
Among the beneficiaries who expressed gratitude for the assistance provided are Yusuf Alhaji Ibrahim; Treasurer of the Keke Napep Riders Association, Harisa Muhammad from Bye Pass Barunde in Akko LGA, and Abdullahi Yakubu, Chairman Yan Balangu in Gombe State.
They appreciated Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and President Bola Tinubu for what they described as timely intervention, especially during these challenging times, pledging to utilize the funds to enhance their businesses.
The initiation of the PPP in Gombe State reflects a concerted effort by the government to empower MSMEs and stimulate economic growth at the grassroots.
With beneficiaries poised to leverage these grants for business expansion and sustainability, the program holds promise for fostering entrepreneurship and driving socio-economic development across the state.
