Gombe State government has signed contracts agreement with four contracting companies for the construction of Three-Arm-Zone comprising of State of the art House of Assembly Complex, State High Court Complex, the state governor’s residence, as well as outpost for Operation Hattara and Headquarters for Gombe State Security, Traffic and Environmental Corps (GOSTEC).
Speaking shortly after signing the agreement on behalf of the state government, the State’s Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transportation Engineer Dr Usman Maijama’a Kallamu, said the projects are long overdue, considering the shacky conditions of the State High Court and the House of Assembly Complexes.
He said the state of the art complexes when completed, will make the state capital wear a new look in par with other state capitals across Nigeria.
While calling on the contracting companies to stick to specifications and quality, the commissioner maintained that the state government would not accept anything less than the agreed standards.
While congratulating the companies for winning the contracts bidding, Maijama’a charged them to ensure timely completion of the projects.
He equally appealed to people of the state to pray and support the Inuwa Yahaya-led administration on its quest to bringing more development to the state.
Earlier in his address on behalf of the construction companies, the Managing Director A.D Sheriff & Investment Nigeria Limited Alhaji Abubakar Sheriff appreciated the state government for finding them worthy for the constructions, assuring to deliver based on the quality and specifications agreed upon.
Speaking on behalf of the consultants, Engineer Taofik Popoola, assured to put in their best to ensure quality and timely delivery of the projects.
On his part, the Senior Special Assistant to the state governor on special projects Architect Yakubu Mamman, said they will ensure close supervision on the projects to ensure no standard is compromised.
In an address of welcome, the Director Building in the ministry, Builder Silvanus Silas, said the projects signifies the state government’s commitments to upholding principles of democracy, maintaining that when completed the projects would shape the future development of the state.
