Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has received the report on public service review, assuring of his administration’s commitments to implement the recommendations of the committee.

The governor gave the assurance when he received the committee’s report at the government house.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njoɗi, Governor Yahaya appreciated the committee for an excellent job.

While assuring that his administration will carefully study and implement the recommendations contained in the report, the governor said “Public service reform was long overdue in Gombe state, considering the fact that some of the laws we are operating were in use for over 60 years right from Northern State, to Northeast State through Bauchi State”.

He said for optimum performance in the civil service, the review became imperative to ensure Gombe people received quality service at all levels.

Presenting the report earlier, chairman of the public service review committee Hajiya Rabi Shu’aibu Jimeta, said “The committee reviewed the Gombe State Civil Service Rules and Financial Regulations, to include reviewing and updating other regulations like store regulations, procurement guidelines, local government regulations and job descriptions for senior local government officials”.

Hajiya Rabi appealed to the state government to carefully study and implement the recommendations for better civil service in the state.
