…As Chairperson Presents Report of Five Year Tenure
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has express gratitude to the chairperson and members of the State Civil Service Commission (CSC) for innovative ideas which has seen the service grow in leeps and bound.
The Governor gave this indication when he receive the chairperson and members of the commission who were in his office to present their scorecard signaling the end of their five year tenure.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the Governor observe that the commission under Rabi Jimeta displayed utmost commitment and due diligence to their assigned responsibilities.
According to a press statement signed and made available to Jewel Times by the Information Officer SSG’s Office Joshua Ɗanmalam, the SSG said “There was never a time I discuss civil service with His Excellency that he will not express pride and satisfaction with your stewardship”.
He says through the ingenuity of the Rabi Jimeta led Gombe State Civil Service Commission, the commission was able to address the lackluster service putting it on the part of progress.
Prof Njodi therefore conveyed the best wishes and appreciation of Governor Yahaya, the government and people of the state to the chairperson and her team for a job well done.
Speaking earlier, the Chairperson of the Gombe State Civil Service Commission Rabi Shuaibu Jimeta says under her five year tenure, the commission was able to meticulously discharge its constitutional responsibility in the appointment, recruitment and promotion of deserving officers.
She remark that in the period under review the commission was able to restore sanity and decorum in the civil service through the exercise of disciplinary control to public officers found wanting in the discharge of their responsibilities.
She explains that through the five year period, the commission strives to maintain an environment that promote growth, gender inclusion, accountability and transparency as well as integrity and excellence in the service.
She added that the commission under her watch was able to provide a level playing ground in the process of recruitment by creating a portal and website that can be accessed by interested candidates.
The outgoing chairperson of the CSC further explain that the commission equally introduced a merit based promotion through competitive examination particularly for officers at the top echelon of the service among other numerous achievements and innovation introduce by the commission to chart a new course for the state civil service.
The chairperson used the occasion to express deep appreciation to Governor Inuwa Yahaya for the opportunity given them to serve the state, describing the experience gathered as incredible and rewarding.
In attendance are all the permanent members of the commission, the permanent secretaries of Civil Service Commission and that of Special Services and Political Affairs in the SSGs Office.
