A prominent founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State, Hon. Muhammad A. Bello, PhD, has formally resigned his membership from the party.

In a letter dated August 4 and addressed to the Chairman of the APC in Bolari East Ward, Gombe Local Government Area, Hon. Bello cited personal reasons for his immediate resignation.

The former Deputy Minority Leader of the Gombe State House of Assembly expressed gratitude to the party leadership for the roles and opportunities afforded him over the years. “I am one of the founding members of the party who had served as the first Hon. Member under the APC platform to represent Gombe South Constituency in the Gombe State House of Assembly,” he wrote.

Bello also highlighted his political journey within the APC, stating that he was honored to serve not only in the state assembly but also as Deputy Minority Leader and later as the first Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Governor of Gombe State.

While he did not disclose his next political move or whether he intends to join another party, Bello’s resignation marks a significant development within the political landscape of Gombe State, especially coming from a respected figure within the APC ranks.

His resignation letter has already been received and acknowledged by the party leadership at the ward level.

Political observers are watching closely to see what impact this development may have ahead of the next election cycle.
