The District Head of Billiri, Alhaji Yusuf Muhammad Ali, has commended the Farindoki Foundation, a non-governmental organization, for its efforts in promoting peace, unity, and community development.
The commendation was made during a grand end-of-year sports festival, known as the Run Festival, organized by the foundation for youths, women, and children.
Speaking at the event, the District Head praised the foundation for organizing various sporting activities, including races, sack races, and egg races, which he said help foster unity and promote physical fitness among community members.
The Farindoki Foundation, founded by Barrister Zainab Sabo Mustapha, is dedicated to supporting communities through various developmental initiatives.
In her address, Barrister Zainab expressed gratitude to attendees of the festival, held at Billiri Stadium. She stated that the event was organized to strengthen peace and unity among youths in Billiri.
She further announced special prizes for participants, including cash rewards of ₦200,000 for first-place winners in both male and female categories, ₦150,000 for second place, and ₦100,000 for third place. Winners also received bags of maize, courtesy of Farindoki Farms House.
The 12-kilometer race started at Billiri Stadium, extended to Kwana Kalmai, and looped back through the market area.
In their remarks, the Member representing Balanga-Billiri Federal Constituency, Hon. Ali Isah JC, and the Chairperson of Shongom Local Government Area, Fatima Binta Bello, pledged additional financial support to both winners and participants of the race.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Former Chairman of Kaltungo Local Government, Hon. Kabo, women leaders, youths, and security agencies such as the Nigeria Police, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and health officials.
