E Governance: Gombe LG Chairmen, Perm Secs, DGs, ES Participates in Technology Workshop

A two day sensitization workshop for local government chairmen, permanent secretaries, Directors General and Executive Secretaries in Gombe State on Strengthening Government Digital Platforms, Security Accessibility Efficiency and Accountability has open at the Linmana Event Center Tunfure along Gombe-Bauchi Road.

 

This was according to a press statement signed and made available to Jewel Times by the Information Officer SSG’s Office Joshua Ɗanmalam.

Ɗanmalam said the workshop was put together by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms Abuja in collaboration with Gombe State Bureau of Public Service Reforms.

 

Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary and Director General Gombe State Bureau of Public Service Reforms Abubakar Hassan, remarked that “In an era where digital transformation is redefining governance, it is imperative to enhance the security and accessibility efficiency and accountability of digital platforms to build a government that is more responsive and accountable”.

 

He explained that Gombe State cannot afford to be left behind in the current digital revolution hence the need for the workshop to build the capacity of policy drivers for effective service delivery across the state.

 

While highlighting some of the modest achievements of the administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya in the civil service through leveraging technology and other reforms,Abubakar Hassan stress that the state has benefitted immensely in the technological innovations.

 

Delivering a paper titled “Developing Digital platform for citizens engagement, the Head of the ICT Bureau of Public Service Reforms Abuja Oguntimi Olusegun observe that digital transformation has reshape the relationship between government and citizens especially in the 21st century.

 

He maintained that E-governance is the application of digital technology to improve public services and citizens engagement to enhance transparency, streamline administrative processes and foster inclusive decision making within governance.
