The Centre For Advocacy, Transparency and Accountability Initiative (CATAI) has launched its 4-year strategic plan, “Empowering for Progress”, targeting over 5 million vulnerable people in Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states.
Speaking in Maiduguri on Wednesday, the Executive Secretary of the centre, Sadiq Mu’azu said the plan focuses on education, women and child protection, nutrition, WASH, and peace building, and aims to empower communities and drive holistic development through comprehensive interventions.
According to him, CATAI has partnered with international NGOs and government agencies to achieve its objectives, prioritizing education, women and child protection, nutrition, WASH, and peace building.
He noted that within six years of operation the centre has reached over 3.2 million people, focusing on vulnerable groups like girl children, children with special needs, and young women, CATAI has collaborated with notable agencies like UNICEF, UN Women, and USAID.
“The 2024-2028 strategic plan aims to empower communities through sustainable interventions and capacity-building programs.
“This comprehensive plan prioritizes key areas crucial for individual and community development, including education, women and child protection, nutrition, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), and peace building.
“By targeting over 5 million people in Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states, CATAI aims to address the region’s most pressing challenges and empower vulnerable populations, including girl children, children with special needs, and young women. To achieve this, the organization has established partnerships with international NGOs and government agencies, leveraging their expertise and resources to maximize impact.
“Building on its previous successes, CATAI’s strategic plan represents a significant milestone in the organization’s journey, demonstrating its commitment to scaling up its impact and making a lasting difference in millions of lives. By prioritizing sustainable interventions, capacity-building programs, and community engagement activities, CATAI seeks to create resilient and thriving communities, where individuals can reach their full potential and contribute to the region’s development,” he said.
