Bauchi State Government To Sanction Erring Teachers

The Bauchi State Government has pledged continued priority to education infrastructure and learning materials in public schools, particularly in rural areas.

The State Commissioner for Education Dr Jamila Muhammad Dahiru gave the indications when she led a monitoring and evaluation team to inspect some public schools across five local government areas of the state.

Jamila Dahiru said the rational behind the routine monitoring was to ascertain the condition of learning process for ensuring access and quality education in the state.

At Government Day Secondary School Soro, the commissioner expressed dismayed over the behaviors of some teachers who casually go to schools, saying that state ministry will not tolerate such misconduct anymore.

The commissioner called on the principals and teachers to fear Allah in the discharge of their duties for smooth running of the education system in the state.

Speaking to our Education Correspondent Jibrin Hussaini Kundum at GDSS Gololo in Gamawa Local Government, Dr Jamila expressed disappointment over encroachment on the school’s premises despite Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad’s commitment to provide conducive environment for leaning.

The commissioner therefore stressed the need for community leaders, teachers and students to fully support governor Bala Abdulkadir led administration’s desire for architecturing the education system in the state.

About 10 public secondary schools were visited in the five local governments of Ganjuwa, Darazo, Misau, Gamawa and Zaki local government respectively.
