Bauchi Govt To Recruit Security Personnel In All Public Schools

The Bauchi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to recruit more security personnel in public schools to ensure full implementation of the National Policy for Safety, Security and Violence Free Schools.

The Commissioner for Education Dr Jamila Muhammad Dahiru reaffirmed the commitment during a Cluster Meeting on domestication and understanding the National Policy for Public schools safety, Enhance Safe and Secured Education For All, organized by Young Leaders Network, LEADTOTS, BASNEC, NUJ Bauchi among other development partners.

The Commissioner represented by the Director Schools Services of the Ministry Malama Fatima Musa Garba at the Cluster Discussion Meeting held at Young Leaders Network Office in Bauchi, said the present administration led by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad is committed to provide conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.

She described the National Policy for Safety, Security and Violence Free Schools by the federal government as apt, assuring the readiness of the state ministry of education to support the crusade with a view to protect the schools facilities and lives of the pupils for effective service delivery.

In her speech during the meeting, The Project Manager on Education of Young Leaders Network, Charity Solomon said the rational behind the engagement between the NGO’s and Educational Stakeholders is to provide new modalities that will improve the education standards and safe working environment for teachers and pupils.

She used the medium to urged the State Ministry for Education and the Universal Basic Education Board to intensify advocacy for community involvement in public schools.

Charity also called on the education authorities to engage community leaders in taking ownership of public schools.
