Bauchi Govt Appoints New Provosts, Bursars for Colleges of Education

The Bauchi State Government has charged the newly appointed Provost and Bursar of College of Education Technical Dass and the reappointed Provost of Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare, to focus on academic excellence, accountability, and infrastructural development in their institutions.

 

This was stated by the State’s Commissioner for Higher Education and Regional Integration, Dr. Lydia Haruna Tsammani, during the presentation of appointment letters to the new appointees at her office.

Dr. Lydia Tsammani said “Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad has worked with our ministry to conduct a rigorous and thorough investigation on the selection of the appointees, and all the appointees have the capacity to discharge their assigned responsibilities effectively”.

 

She used the opportunity to call on the management of Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare, and College of Education Technical Dass to cooperate with the principal officers in their respective institutions towards achieving the desired objectives.

 

While presenting the reappointment letter to the Provost of Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare, Professor Asabe Sadiya Muhammad, Dr. Tsammani explained that the reappointment followed a decision and stakeholders’ meeting on a petition against her leadership policy in the institution.

She also presented appointment letters to the newly appointed Provost of College of Education Technical Dass, Mallam Kabiru Baraya Aminu, and Idris Muhammad Mailafiya, who will serve as Bursar of the college.

 

All the appointees are expected to run the affairs of the College of Education Technical Dass for a period of five years, while the Provost of Aminu Saleh College of Education Azare, Professor Asabe Sadiya Muhammad, will run the affairs of the college for the next four years, having already spent one year in that capacity.

 

Speaking on behalf of the appointees, the newly appointed Provost of College of Education Technical Dass, Dr. Kabiru Baraya, appreciated Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad for giving them opportunity to reshaping the future of higher education sector and promised to justify the confidence reposed in them.
