The Emir Of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu has reaffirmed his unwavering support for the Nigerian Society of Engineers towards the rapid growth and progress of Nigeria.
He made the commitment known at the Annual General Meeting of the Society of Engineers, Bauchi State Chapter held at the Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic.
Represented by the Dansaran Bauchi, Jibrin Hussaini Jibo at the occasion, the emir described the engineering profession as the backbone of modern development and civilization.
Alhaji Hussaini Jibo, a former Chairman Bauchi State Internal Revenue Service, noted with deep concern the increasing collapse of infrastructure in the country.
According to him, the problem is not only disrupting daily life but weakens the much desired socioeconomic growth.
Alhaji Hussaini Jibo stressed the need for climate resilience infrastructure and called for concerted efforts between Engineering, policy makers, traditional institutions, and communities for effective maintenance of infrastructure in the country.
In his remarks, the Bauchi State Chairman of Nigerian society of Engineers, Engineer Abdulrahman Sulaiman Hassan said the annual event brings together engineers and industry leaders to share knowledge, advance professional development, and discuss policies to drive Nigeria’s technological and economic development.
He encouraged engineers to contribute actively to national development through their work, especially in infrastructure development and promoting sustainable engineering practice.
