The All Progressives Congress APC has won all the 11 local government chairmanship and councillorship elections conducted peacefully across the state.
This was made known by the chairman Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC) Alhaji Sa’idu Shehu Awak during the collation of the election results at the college of nursing and midwifery Gombe.
He said while many APC chairmanship candidates won with awide margin, all the 114 councillorship candidate won unopposed.
The State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya who cast his vote around 11:15an at AYU 010 Polling Unit in Jekadafari Ward, called on voters to exercise their rights peacefully.
He appealed to losers in the election to conceit defeat, as there must be a winner and a loser in any election.
The governor appreciated the peaceful conduct of the elections, while appreciating security agencies for their contribution towards that.
He said his administration has provided all the needed support to ensure a free and fair election across the state, assuring that such gives chance for people to choose their leaders at ward and local government levels beings the leadership closest to the grassroots in democratic process.
In another development the Gombe local government chairmanship candidate of APC has casts his vote in AA haruna 014 polling unit around 10 am and describes the process as peaceful Hitch Free.
An APC elder statesman Barrister Abdullahi Jalo Castic appreciated the entire process.
19 political parties were captured on the ballot paper of the election.
