…Assures Continuity on Governor Yahaya’s Legacies

By Yunusa Isa, Gombe

Dr. Jamilu Isiyaka Gwamna, a prominent stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State, has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election, pledging to sustain the developmental legacies of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

Speaking during a formal declaration at the State Party Secretariat, Dr. Gwamna stated that his decision to run was rooted in a desire to build upon the successes recorded by the current administration.

“We are here to formally declare our interest to run for the governorship seat in Gombe State under our beloved party the APC in 2027 by God’s grace,” Dr. Gwamna announced.

“If God Almighty make us secure the APC gubernatorial ticket, we shall copy from the commitments and development strides of his Excellency Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya in infrastructure development, we shall sustain his legacies and continue to serve Gombe people by bringing them more dividends of democracy to their door step.”

The aspirant lauded the incumbent governor as the best-performing leader in the history of Gombe State, noting that his governance has elevated the state’s profile across the federation.

“We the people of Gombe State are proud of our governor. He has taken Gombe State to a new level of governance in Nigeria,” he said.

“The enormous amount of work he has done is unmatched, is unparallel.”

Dr. Gwamna expressed confidence that the governor’s track record has already paved the way for a party victory in the next general elections.

“I have no doubt, because of what our governor did, he has already laid the foundation for us as a party to come and easily seek out for people’s votes, because we have something to say and show,” he added.

Supporting the bid, the aspirant’s elder brother, Alhaji Tanko Isiyaka Gwamna, expressed the family’s total support for the quest to serve the state and thanked Governor Yahaya for the opportunity provided for Jamilu to aspire.

Responding to the declaration, the State APC Chairman, Muhammad Ɗantata Ndus, welcomed the move and assured all contenders of a transparent process.

“His Excellency has met with all aspirants and other stakeholders from the ward level to the highest level of consultation, the essence is to ensure there’s a free and fair playing ground for all contestants,” the Chairman stated.

“We call on all aspirants to maintain decorum and play the game as it’s supposed to be without rancho. We want to wish them success, and we want to pray that they will continue from where his Excellency has stopped.”

The chairman concluded by noting that the foundational success laid by Governor Yahaya would make the 2027 elections a “work over” for the APC.

Dr. Gwamna was accompanied to the secretariat by an entourage led by the Gombe Local Government APC Chairman, Hon. Idris Saleh.
