In the spirit of the new year 2025, a two time member that represented Ɓilliri East at the Gombe State House of Assembly, Hon Barrister Rambi Ibrahim Ayala, has led a strong team to visit the Medium Security Custodial Centre Ɓilliri, to empathize and show love to inmates in the correctional centre.

Speaking during the visit, Barrister Rambi said the gesture was meant to welcome the new year through encouraging and supporting the inmates by touching their lives positively.

He said “These regimented inmates most of whom are awaiting trial may not necessarily be criminals, unless decided by a court of law, they still have important roles to play in the development of our dear state and Nigeria”.

While calling on well meaning individuals to imbibe the spirit of correctional centre visitation to complement government efforts, the former lawmaker appealed to governments at all level to allocate more resources to improve inmates and staff welfare.

Barrister Rambi while noting with concerns, the issues of water in the custodial centre, assured of his immediate intervention to fix the water borehole of the facility.

In his response, the Assistant Comptroller of Corrections in charge of the Medium Security Custodial Centre Ɓilliri, Yunana Musa, appreciated Dr Rambi and his team, noting that since his assumption of duty, he has been battling with many challenges in the centre.

“But a visit like this will help a long way in reducing our challenges, we call on well meaning individuals to borrow leaf from Dr Rambi Ayala”.

The team has supported the Ɓilliri inmates with bags of maize, cartons of indomie noodles, Maggi seasoning amongst others.

The inmates couldn’t hide their joy and happiness, chanting words of praises and appreciation to the team.

The Rambi team assured of its commitments to sustain the intervention periodically.
