Stakeholders of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Ɓilliri Local Government Area of Gombe State have passed a vote of no confidence on the state’s party chairman Barrister Rambi Ibrahim Ayala, accusing him of violating the constitutional provisions of the party by imposing a new leadership against the constitutionally recognized one.
The stakeholders made this known in a communique presented to newsmen after an enlarged NNPP stakeholders meeting in Ɓilliri.
Presenting the communique, the secretary of the stakeholders Hon. Amatiga Yila Nabouth, alleged that some people he called ‘moles’ who convened a congress meeting that contravened NNPP constitution, are trying to instigate crisis and division in the party, maintaining that the constitution spelt out that all posts shall be filled through democratically conducted elections.
He said “No one can instigate any meeting purporting to deliberate on our party’s affairs without the consent of our LGC Chairman Elder Ambrose Ismaila Mairungu and his EXC0. We reject, discountenance whatsoever decisions, observations or agendas made at that illegal gathering and resolutely declare same as null, void and of no effect – We do not and will never recognize any person in the name of Hon. Yila Dankuka (Bades), who is unknown and not a registered member of our party as an LG executive member in whatever capacity. We resist it, and ask the security agencies to take note of any such impostor purporting to masquerade as an NNPP executive member Billiri LGC”.
While describing Rambi as an antiparty agent, the communique accused him of romancing another party with a view of subsuming NNPP into that.
The stakeholders equally accused the state party chairman of mobilizing people against NNPP in the 2023 general elections by campaigning for Labour Party candidate in Ɓilliri East Constituency, and the PDP senatorial candidate in Gombe South.
“Consequently, We pass a vote of no confidence on Hon. Rambi Ayala as state Ag. Chairman of our party and seek his expulsion and/or immediate suspension from office, as state acting chairman of our party.
And we are calling on the national body of our great party NNPP to do the needful, by stopping him from parading himself as Acting Chairman of NNPP Gombe State, because of his unconstitutional and unlawful activities against our party constitution. Our party must stand, vibrate and move forward in Ɓilliri LGC – Hon. Rambi Ayala must go”, the communique declared.
The Ɓilliri NNPP stakeholders reiterated support and loyalty on the leadership of Elder Ambrose Ismaila Mairungu, who they described as backbone of the party in Ɓillliri Local Government.
Amatiga Yila said the stakeholders have the backing of seven out of the 10 NNPP ward chairmen in the local government, Gombe State Kwankwasiyya Movement and Kwankwasiyya Reporters amongst others.
However in a telephone interview with newsmen, Rambi described the stakeholders’ allegations as baseless.
He accused that the stakeholders are being sponsored by other party agents, to dis-stabilize and cause rancors in the NNPP.
