Yunusa Isa, Gombe
The committee and members of the Abdullahi Bin Abbas Masjid in Wuro Juli Quarters, Akko Local Government, have conveyed their profound appreciation to the former House of Representatives member Dukku/Nafaɗa Federal Constituency, Hon. Hajiya Aishatu Jibir Dukku (Sarauniyar Tsangayun Ƙasar Hausa), affectionately known as Mama Shatu. This heartfelt gratitude stems from the complete renovation of their mosque undertaken during the recent month of Ramadan.
During a thank-you visit to her residence in Gombe, leaders of the mosque committee – Malam Baba Alhaji Kumo, Safiyanu Sulaimain Dukku, and Aliyu Muhammad Gelengu lauded the former legislator for her unwavering commitment to religious endeavors.
“We are here to express our sincere gratitude and deep appreciation for your generous act,” stated the committee leaders. “You have truly revitalized our mosque, and words cannot adequately express our joy. We can only pray that Almighty Allah rewards you with the highest Jannah. May He guide you in all your affairs, protect you from all adversity and enemies, and grant you the realization of your dreams. As our mother, we assure you of our steadfast support and loyalty at all times.”
The leadership also announced the community’s unanimous decision to entrust the mosque’s future leadership and guidance to the Salafiyya Islamic Group. Furthermore, they outlined their plans to elevate the masjid to a full-fledged Jumu’at mosque.
They highlighted that essential requirements for this upgrade include the provision of water facilities, toilets, and adequate premises. Consequently, the committee appealed to Mama Shatu for further assistance and development to help them realize the set target.
In his contribution, Muhammad Yusuf (Ɗansararin Doma), the Secretary of the Mama Shatu Education Foundation, highlighted Hon. Aishatu Dukku’s ongoing and forthcoming contributions for the mosque’s development.
While acknowledging the community members’ own efforts in various aspects of the renovation, Ɗansarari moted that he had been consistently updating Hon. Dukku on the progress throughout the renovation project.
Alhaji Bashir Muhammad Santuraki (the Santuraki of Dukku), who doubles as the Campaign Director for “Mama Shatu Again and Again,” expressed appreciation to the committee for the visit. He assured them of encouraging the former member in her dedication to religious causes.
In her response, Hon. Aishatu Jibir Dukku appreciated the delegation for the visit, considering it an unnecessary formality.
“Actually, I prefer to keep my religious contributions private, done solely for the sake of God Almighty. However, Islamic teachings encourage us to be appreciative of both God and those who do good to us,” she stated.
She reassured the team of her continued readiness to provide further support and assistance to the masjid.
“Please do not hesitate to inform us of any needs you may have in any area. We are always prepared to contribute our part, and our doors are always open to you,” she affirmed.
Mama Shatu expressed her gratitude to God Almighty for granting her the opportunity and commitment to serve His cause.
The Abdullahi Bin Abbas Masjid, whose foundation was laid in February 2019, had faced various developmental challenges until the recent significant intervention by the former House member during the holy month of Ramadan, which has given the mosque a renewed and appealing appearance.
