As the holy month of Ramadan approaches soon, Muslim women in Gombe have been encouraged to redouble efforts in good deeds, forgiveness, feeding the needy, and being dutiful to their husbands, especially during the holy month.

Sheikh Murtala Saleh Kaugama delivered the message during a pre-Ramadan lecture organized by Kauthar Integrated Academy Sirankewo, in Gombe Metropolis.

Sheikh Kaugama stated that Ramadan fasting, as one of the pillars of Islam, is mandated upon Muslims by Allah to make them pious.

While advising the women believers to wade into Ramadan with pure minds free of grudges, the cleric encouraged them to forgive one another in the spirit of the sacred month.

Sheikh Murtala offered good tidings to the believers on the bounties of feeding the poor, the needy, and the less privileged in Ramadan, especially considering the current economic hardships. He emphasized that feeding the needy in Ramadan carries multiple bounties and rewards, far outweighing doing so in other months.

He encouraged them not to belittle what they have but to share same with others, as such an act can shield them against the torment of hell.

The Islamic scholar advised the women to increase in voluntary prayers, especially Qiyamul Lail, frequent recitation of the Holy Quran, send more salutations to the Prophet, and increase in good deeds.

He said “Whoever witnesses and makes Lailatul Qadri (The Night of Power) lively with prayers and good deeds earns rewards more than worshipping for a thousand months”.

While encouraging women to be dutiful, loyal, and obedient to their husbands, the cleric warned them against any act that may void their fasting.

In a vote of thanks, the proprietor of Kauthar Integrated Academy, Ustaz Usman Shuaibu, expressed appreciation to Sheikh Murtala Kaugama for the lecture, praying for him, God’s abundant rewards.

He called on the participants to put the knowledge gained into practice, assuring them that the school would continue to organize such lectures to educate and enlighten women on perfecting their religion.
