Public Students To Represent Bauchi At National Debate

The Bauchi State Ministry of Education has advocated for more focus on Inter Secondary Schools Debate Competition for development and fostering of peace and unity among the public school students.

The State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Jamila Muhammad Dahiru gave the indication during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Inter Secondary Schools Debate Competition, that took place at Government Girls Day Secondary School Sa’adu Zungur Bauchi.

The Commissioner represented by the Special Adviser on Education to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, Alhaji Adamu Zakari said no doubt the competition will ginger the students and provide positive results in the education sector.

He congratulated the students who participated in the debate and called on parents and guardians to support the present administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad in its quest to revamping the education system.

In his remarks,The Executive Chairman of SUBEB Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri who was represented by the Director Schools Services of the Board, Mallam Zuhairu Usman described the School Debate competition as an extra curriculum activity, saying that the competition will also provide opportunity for both students and teachers to develop their intellectual capacities.

Speaking Earlier, The Director Schools Services of the Ministry, Mrs. Fatima Musa Garba appreciated the leadership style of State Commissioner for Education for providing new modalities that improve the education system.

She examined that the Inter Secondary Schools Championship is the first kind in the history of education sector, particularly in the state ministry of education.

Three secondary school students won the Inter Secondary Schools Competition, where Team of Government Comprehensive Day Secondary School, Bauchi emerged first position, Government Science Secondary School Misau came second while Government Girls Secondary School Itas-Gadau came third.

All the winning teams are expected to represent Bauchi State at the National Inter Secondary Schools Debate Championship expected to held in Abuja.
