Police In Gombe Conducts Observation Patrol In Some LGAs

Gombe State Commissioner of Police, CP Hayatu Usman has Conducted Observation Patrol in Kaltungo and Billiri Local Governments.

According to press release signed by the Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Asp Sharif Sa’ad , the CP Hayatu Usman inspected both the Kaltungo and Billiri Divisional Police Headquarters during Observation Patrol.

The exercise is part of the Commissioner’s continued effort to improve the security of lives and properties in the State.

The Commissioner of Police expressed satisfaction with the operational readiness and efficiency of the Kaltungo and Billiri Divisional Police Headquarters. He commended the officers and men of the divisions for their dedication to duty and urged them to sustain the momentum.

CP Hayatu Usman reiterated the commitment of the State Police Command to collaborate with other security agencies and stakeholders to combat crime and ensure a peaceful environment for all residents.

During his visit, CP Hayatu Usman interacted with the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) of both divisions. The DPO of Billiri Division, CSP Ahmed Sanda, and the DPO of Kaltungo Division, CSP Paul Pama, briefed the Commissioner of Police on the security situation in their respective areas of jurisdiction.

Gombe State Police Command under the leadership of CP Hayatu Usman has arrested two suspects involved in criminal conspiracy and adulteration of food items particularly rice.

In a press release signed by the Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Asp Sharif Sa’ad, the suspects are Bashir Haruna aged 35 of Dubai Quarters Gombe and Muhammed Isa aged 54 of Jibulu Quarters KUmo via Akko LGA of the state.

According to the release, the suspects who were arrested on the 24th February 2024 at about 11am by policemen from Akko Division based on credible intelligence were in possession of 57 bags of mixed rice and chaff with the intention to deceive the public and sell it as rice at market price.

In view of this news trend, the state commissioner of CP Hayatu Usman advised the general public to be wary of criminal elements and be vigilant when buying grains in sacks to avoid falling prey of such scams

The command assured the peace loving people of the state that the police in Gombe state will continue to strive for better service delivery in the performance of its constitutional responsibilities of protecting lives and property, maintaining law and order and it will investigate and prosecute offenders.
