Parents Encouraged to Support Nursing Students

Parents and guardians have been called upon to support their children’s education, particularly those studying Nursing and Midwifery.

 

The Zonal Coordinator of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) in charge of Bauchi and Gombe States, Mallam Musa Jarma, made the appeal during an induction ceremony for nursing students of Aliko Dangote College of Nursing Sciences, Bauchi State.

Mallam Jarma emphasized the importance of registration with the Nursing Council of Nigeria for nursing students to obtain professional certificates and practice nursing independently.

 

He urged the students to maintain ethical conduct, noting that “Registration would help reduce the number of unqualified nurses”.

In her address earlier, The Provost of Aliko Dangote College of Nursing Sciences, Bauchi Mrs. Rakiya Saleh, congratulated the graduates and advised them to be good ambassadors of the college in their various communities.

 

The provost who was represented by the Deputy Provost of the Collage Malam Nasiru Muhammad, noted that the college had inducted two sets of students this year, totaling 74 nurses and 83 midwives from the 2021 sets “A” and “B”.

 

Mrs. Rakiya Saleh commended the graduates for their patience and dedication to their studies over the three-year period.

Some of the inducted students, Michael Ishaku and Zainab Muhammad Dambam, promised to apply the knowledge they acquired and uphold the ethics of the nursing profession in serving humanity.
