NANS Bauchi unveils students’ security platform, documents 2019–2026 education achievements

Posted on August 31, 2026 by Jtimes

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Bauchi Axis, has unveiled a Students Security Interactive Platform aimed at enabling students to promptly report security incidents within and around their campuses for immediate action.

The platform was launched during an educational summit held on Saturday, 29th August 2026, at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Conference Centre, Bauchi, organised by NANS in collaboration with the Bauchi State Ministry for Higher Education and Regional Integration.

The programme also featured the unveiling of the “Bauchi Educational Chronicles 2019–2026,” a comprehensive documentation of educational policies, programmes and infrastructural developments recorded under the administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.

NANS JCC Bauchi Executive Chairman, Comrade Aliyu Musa, said the security platform was fully sponsored by the Bauchi State Government, describing it as an important initiative to strengthen campus security and improve students’ access to timely intervention when security challenges arise.

He explained that the digital platform would provide students with a channel to report security incidents directly to their respective institutions, thereby facilitating prompt and decisive action by the relevant authorities.

Comrade Aliyu said the initiative reaffirmed the commitment of the state government to creating a safe and conducive learning environment for students across higher institutions in Bauchi State.

The summit attracted government officials, traditional rulers, heads of higher institutions, security agencies, NANS national executives, Students’ Union Government leaders and thousands of students from institutions across the state, alongside student representatives from Borno and Yobe States.

NANS commended Governor Bala Mohammed and the Ministry for Higher Education and Regional Integration for their support and partnership with student bodies, stressing that the programme demonstrated the importance of collaboration between government and students in improving education and students’ welfare.
