The Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Waikamatissuna (JIBWIS) Gombe has successfully organized its 10th Annual Ramadan Tafsir Seminar, focusing on equipping preachers with essential knowledge on pressing religious issues and societal challenges.

Speaking at the seminar, Sheikh Salisu Muhammad Gombe, Chairman of JIBWIS Gombe, emphasized that the event continues to gain increased participation every year due to the growing interest among Islamic scholars and preachers. He commended dedicated members of the organization for their significant contributions toward the advancement of Islamic activities.

Sheikh Salisu cautioned preachers against making statements solely to impress their audience, describing such actions as a serious risk that could mislead the public. He also warned politicians against exploiting the organization for personal or political gains, stressing that JIBWIS remains neutral and will not endorse any political party or candidate.

In his remarks, the Emir of Gombe, Dr. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, represented by Madakin Gombe Alh Umar Abubakar, reminded participants that all human beings will be held accountable before Allah for their actions. He urged preachers to strictly adhere to the organization’s principles to ensure spiritual success.

Additionally, the Emir called on agencies, organizations, and individuals to seek sustainable ways of funding religious activities, rather than relying on external donations, to ensure the financial independence of such initiatives.

The event featured thought-provoking presentations by distinguished scholars:

Sheikh Prof. Abdurrashid Abdulganiy presented a paper on “The Importance of Trust in Strengthening Society and Individual Morality.”

Dr. Abdurrahman Idris Zakariyya Jos spoke on “The Science of Usul al-Fiqh and Its Relevance in Interpreting the Qur’an.”

Malam Ahmad Muhammad Kumo delivered a lecture on “Effective Methods of Da’wah and Communication Strategies.”

The seminar concluded with a resounding call for continued efforts to enhance religious knowledge and ethical conduct within society.
