JED Management Commiserates With Governor Yahaya Over Tudunwadan Pantami Tragedy

The management of Jos Electricity Distribution (JED) Company Limited have commiserated with Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya over the Tudunwadan Pantami electrocution and fire tragedy that claimed eight lives including that of the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Special Duties and Regional Integration Muhammad Yusuf Kulani.

Speaking during a condolence visit on the governor at the Government House, the Acting Managing Director of the distribution company Mamman Lafiya Umar, said they were at the government house to extend their heartfelt condolences to the government, families and people of Gombe State over the tragedy.

Mamman said “The incident occurred when a wooden carrier of the high tension electric cables broke and fall on houses in the area”.

He noted that an effort to replace the wooden carriers had since been initiated, assuring to fast tract its completion to avert future occurrence.

While praying for God Almighty to prevent similar incidents, the managing director appealed to customers to always report any suspicious electric fault to nearest JED office for immediate response.

In his address, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya appreciated the team for identifying with the government and people of Gombe in this hard time, describing the tragedy as something ordained by God Almighty.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njoɗi, the governor said “As people of religion, Gombe citizens believed in scriptures – that all livings shall taste death”.

The governor advised management of the electricity distribution company to imbibe the spirit of regular supervision of electric infrastructure to ensure they are in good state for safety and protection of lives and property.

Governor Yahaya restated his administration’s resolve to protect and ensure citizens safety at all the time.
