…Dedicates Honour to Governor Inuwa Yahaya, People of Gombe State

The Director-General of Press Affairs to the Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum, Malam Ismaila Uba Misilli, has been named the Most Outstanding Spokesperson of the Year (State Category) at the prestigious 2025 National Spokespersons Awards.

The national recognition, organized by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in partnership with Image Merchants Promotions Ltd and the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, honours individuals who have demonstrated exceptional excellence and impact in public communications.

At the awards ceremony, held as part of a three-day summit unveiled by the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi, Misilli was recognised for his strategic clarity, compelling storytelling, audience engagement, and integrity—hallmarks that have distinguished his communication style in public service.

The high-profile event was graced by eminent personalities, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, and former Ministers of Information—Prof. Jerry Gana, Chief John Nwodo, Mr. Frank Nweke Jr., Labaran Maku, and Alhaji Lai Mohammed—who shared invaluable insights during the Ministerial Clinic session of the summit.

In his acceptance remarks, Misilli dedicated the award to his principal, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, attributing the honour to the governor’s visionary leadership and unwavering support.

“This is truly a proud moment for Gombe State and a direct reflection of the visionary leadership of my principal, His Excellency Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, whose trust, guidance, and support consistently motivate us to strive for excellence,” Misilli said.

He also expressed gratitude to his family, colleagues, and the entire Government House media team, describing the award as a shared achievement and a testament to teamwork and dedication.

This accolade builds on Misilli’s 2024 Spokesperson Gold Award, making his latest recognition a significant milestone in an already distinguished career spanning over two decades in journalism, media relations, and strategic communications.

As Director-General of Press Affairs, Misilli has introduced innovative strategies in media engagement and public communication, enhancing the visibility and public perception of the Gombe State Government. His polished, incisive, and professional press statements—coupled with his measured and effective response to public discourse—have played a critical role in amplifying Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s policies and programmes.

The award is not only a personal triumph for Misilli but also a proud moment for the government and people of Gombe State, further positioning the state as a beacon of excellence in governance communication.
