…Gombe Now Competes with Any State in Nigeria – Shabewa
By Saeed Ahmad Bappah, Gombe
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Gombe State on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Jamilu Ahmed Shabewa, has hailed Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, for what he described as “a historic and unmatched transformation of Gombe State” since assuming office in 2019.
Speaking to journalists, Shabewa stated that the Governor’s developmental strides across all sectors of the economy have elevated Gombe to a level where it can now confidently compete with any other state in Nigeria in terms of infrastructure, governance, and service delivery.
“In just six years, Governor Inuwa Yahaya has surpassed the achievements of all previous administrations. From healthcare to education, agriculture, industry and urban renewal, the transformation is both visible and impactful,” he said.
He highlighted the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park as a cornerstone of the administration’s economic blueprint, designed to attract investments, stimulate job creation and enhance the industrial profile of the state.
“Fifteen companies are already setting up in the park, and more are on the way. His Excellency even brought former President Olusegun Obasanjo to commission one of the seed-processing firms, a sign of the Park’s national importance,” Shabewa added.
He also applauded the Governor’s attention to local government development, citing multiple flagship projects in Dukku LGA, including a new modern cattle market and central market, as evidence of the Governor’s grassroots focus.
“No local government is left out. Each one has seen at least five or more transformative projects under this administration,” he noted.
On the recently launched Agro-Livestock Industrial Zone, Shabewa praised the initiative, which includes a fully automated abattoir, international livestock and grains markets, a tannery, and a dry port.
“This is a landmark project that will change the face of livestock business in Nigeria. Gombe will soon be exporting processed meat and livestock products to other parts of the country and beyond,” he stated.
He called on investors, business owners, and the people of Gombe to take advantage of the opportunities being created, noting that the Inuwa Yahaya administration is providing the infrastructure and policy support needed for inclusive prosperity.
“The Governor’s foresight and passion for sustainable development are evident in every part of the state. With what we’ve seen so far, Gombe now ranks among the most progressive states in Nigeria, and can confidently hold its own in any comparison,” Shabewa concluded.
