The Gombe State Public Service is experiencing a period of significant transformation under the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya. This positive trajectory is evident in the remarkable strides made by the Bureau of Public Service Reform, which has been instrumental in streamlining bureaucratic processes and enhancing service delivery across the state.

The Permanent Secretary/Director General of the Gombe State Bureau of Public Service Reform, Abubakar Hassan, highlighted these achievements during an interactive session with journalists in Gombe.

He outlined that the Bureau’s primary mandate is to set and maintain high standards across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the state, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery to the public.

Hassan expressed his gratitude for the support of Governor Yahaya, which has been instrumental in enabling the Bureau to effectively fulfill its mandate. He pointed to the establishment of the Gombe State Disability Commission as a prime example of this progress.

He said Governor Inuwa Yahaya is deeply committed to enhancing the productivity and efficiency of the state’s workforce. To achieve this, he has spearheaded several initiatives aimed at modernizing the public service and ensuring its smooth functioning.

“Gombe State became one of the first in the North to establish such a crucial agency, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to inclusivity and social justice”, he stated.

He maintained that the Bureau plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of the newly established Disability Commission, ensuring its capacity to effectively serve the needs of people with disabilities in the state.

Hassan further emphasized the Bureau’s dedication to modernizing public service delivery across all sectors. “By streamlining bureaucratic processes and promoting efficiency, the Bureau is contributing significantly to the overall development and progress of Gombe State”.
