The Gombe State Urban Planning and Development Authority (GOSUPDA) has ordered a construction stoppage and imposed a ₦3.5 million fine on Shakkato filling station for destroying public property along FCE-Tashan Dukku Road.

The infractions were identified during a routine GOSUPDA inspection for development control and regulation.

TPL Ibrahim Gure, a GOSUPDA official, explained that the agency found damage to over 50 meters of drainage and walkways, exceeding the scope of Shakkato’s building permit.

“While they secured building approval, it did not authorize removing walkways or destroying public drainage,” TPL Gure said.

GOSUPDA issued a stop-work order and directed the owner to their office. The assessment made also revealed extensive damage, prompting GOSUPDA’s Executive Chairman, Bappayo Samanja Maudo, to order immediate withdrawal of the building approval.

“Shakkato must reconstruct the damaged property and pay the ₦3.5 million fine for encroaching on and destroying public property,” TPL Gure added.

TPL Gure reiterated GOSUPDA’s commitment to ensuring the integrity of public property and regulating physical development for the creation of convenient and effective urban areas in Gombe State.
