The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Gombe State Council, has officially extended its warm congratulations to the newly inaugurated leadership team appointed by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
In a press statement signed and made available to Jewel Times by the council chairman Comrade Faruk Mu’azu (Wakilin Sadarwan Gombe) and his secretary Shu’aibu Umar, the union described the recent appointments as a strategic move to bolster the state’s governance and development agenda, commending the Governor for assembling a team defined by experience, integrity, and dedication to public service.
The statement, offered specific praise for the new Head of the Civil Service, Professor Muazu Shehu. Reflecting on his appointment, the union stated that “Your elevation to the pinnacle of the state civil service is well deserved. Your wealth of knowledge and experience gives us confidence that you will provide purposeful leadership, promote professionalism, and ensure greater efficiency in the bureaucracy.”
Addressing the newly sworn-in Commissioners, members of the Executive Council, Special Advisers, and the new Permanent Secretary, the NUJ emphasized that these roles represent a critical “call to service.”
The union urged the appointees to prioritize results, transparency, and inclusivity in their respective offices.
The leadership encouraged the new appointees to maintain an open channel with stakeholders, particularly the media, to ensure that government policies and programs are effectively communicated to the public.
Reaffirming its role as a partner in the state’s growth, the NUJ Gombe Council pledged its continued commitment to collaborate with the government at all levels.
“We will continue to uphold the ethics of journalism while providing accurate information that will promote good governance and unity in the state,” the union noted.
The Council offered prayers for the wisdom and health of the new appointees, calling on the people of Gombe to support the administration’s new team for the collective prosperity and progress of the state.
