The Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park is set to receive a stable, round-the-clock electricity supply directly from the Dadinkowa Hydropower Plant, following a stakeholder meeting held in Gombe.
The initiative is being driven by the Management Committee of the industrial park in collaboration with the Gombe Revenue Optimization Company Limited (GROCOL) and the Gombe State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee, Malam Bashir Nuhu, stated that the engagement was designed to consult with investors operating within the park and finalize modalities for delivering reliable power to support commercial operations.
He noted that the state government is partnering with Mabon Limited to channel electricity from the Daɗinkowa facility to the industrial zone.
According to Malam Nuhu, the consultative session allowed the government to evaluate the precise daily energy and production requirements of each enterprise stationed at the park.
He emphasized that Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya established the industrial hub to stimulate commercial activities, generate state revenue, and create employment opportunities.
Providing technical details on the power rollout, the Plant Manager of Mabon Limited, Engineer Lawal Zubairu, announced that the facility has the capacity to generate and supply forty megawatts of electricity to the park.
He confirmed that the plan is to deliver a continuous twenty-four-hour power supply to ensure companies can function without interruption.
The Managing Director of GROCOL, Abdulkadir Usman, added that the state government has put necessary support structures in place to safeguard investments and ensure business viability at the park.
”This initiative will enable companies to increase production, improve the quality of their products, and create about one thousand job opportunities for youths in the state,” Usman stated.
Investors and participants at the meeting praised the state government’s efforts toward infrastructure development, pledging to support policies aimed at boosting the economic landscape of Gombe State.
