…As Task Force Reiterates Commitment To Fighting Criminality, Immorality

The Executive Chairman, Gombe State Urban Planning and Development Authority (GOSUPDA) Alh. Bappayo Samanja Maudo has reiterated the commitment of the Inuwa-led Administration in fishing out criminals by demolishing their hideouts in the state.
The Executive Chairman disclosed this shortly after the demolition exercise of additional six Gala houses in Gombe Metropolis. The demolished houses are: Evergreen Yelenguruza, Moon Shine, Fina Hotel at Unguwar Waja, Tumfure, Railway Joint and Herwagana respectively.
Mr Maudo explained that the exercise is not ill-intended. “Government had no intention of witch-hunting anybody. We are just determined to create an enabling environment devoid of any action inimical to the norms and values which Gombe state is well known for”, he said.
The Executive Chairman therefore urged the public to give the agency and the task force all the necessary support and cooperation to enable it conduct its duties effectively.
He urged parents to keep vigil of the movement of their children and to instill discipline and fear of Allah in them so that they will not indulge in social vices.
He frowned at the attitude of some parents in forsaking their responsibilities which force their children and wards to embark on hawking where they end up being lured into Gala Houses and Joints.
He assured that the agency is working tirelessly to ensure that all the Joints and Gala houses in the state varnish as directed by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, adding that the governor has given the Joint Task Force all the necessary support to execute their duties in accordance with law and order of the land.
The Executive Chairman called on the general public to feed the agency with useful information on the activities of the Gala Houses and joints thereby supporting the agency in fighting the moral decadence in the society.
