
Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to embark on the immediate distribution of essential non-food items to selected orphanage homes and tsangaya schools across the state.
The Executive Secretary SEMA Abdullahi Haruna Abdullahi had while executing the Governor’s directive explained that “The initiative is aimed at supporting the welfare and well-being of children residing and acquiring knowledge in the affected areas, thereby improving their hygiene, comfort, and overall living conditions”.

The benefiting orphanage homes and tsangaya schools includes; Da’awa Orphanage Tunfure, EMC Gidan Bege Tunfure, Al-guh Orphanage Fountain Tunfure, Destiny Kids Orphanage Home Federal Low-cost, Tsangayar Marigayi Malam Manu Checheniya, Madarasatu Farhil Islam Kagarawal, Tsangayan Malleri, Tsangayar Tappi and Tsangayan Malam Sidi amongst others.
A press statement signed and made available to Jewel Times by the Information Officer Office of the Secretary to the State Government Joshua Danmalam said “Items distributed are blankets, nylon mats, mosquito nets, women wrappers and men shadda”.

In their separate remarks, the representative of the benefiting orphanage homes and the tsangaya schools expressed gratitude to the governor for the gesture, appealing for more of government interventions especially in food and educational materials.
They further appreciated Governor
Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his generosity noting that the items provided will make meaningful impact on the lives of the children.

The distribution exercise was successfully carried out by officials of SEMA achieving its objective of providing relief and support to the vonulrable children.
